As the founding President and CEO of Plexcity, Tony has left an indelible mark on the industry by championing collaboration, operational excellence, and innovative solutions that continue to shape the future of credit unions.

 

Tony’s leadership philosophy is rooted in balancing immediate business needs with long-term sustainability and competitiveness. This approach is evident throughout his career, where he has consistently delivered results while building organizations that endure. At Plexcity, Tony envisioned and built a pioneering shared services cooperative, launching the organization in partnership with three credit union leagues. Under his guidance, Plexcity quickly grew from serving three associations to supporting 17 of the 30 credit union associations and over 40 other organizations, including credit unions, CUSOs, and small businesses. His model has helped organizations optimize their core competencies, reduce costs, and focus on their missions, all while reducing key person risk and improving operational efficiency.

 

Tony’s commitment to innovation is a hallmark of his career. He led the development of complex accounting, finance, and technology solutions that empowered Plexcity clients to maximize efficiency and growth. His vision for a collaborative back-office services model was truly ahead of its time, providing strategic advantages that were previously out of reach for many organizations. Earlier in his career, Tony launched Procura, a forward-thinking payments CUSO that automated accounts payable processes with innovative technology—years before such solutions became industry standard. He also served for a decade on the board of Ensenta, a pioneering fintech company specializing in check imaging and digital deposit solutions, helping guide the company to a successful acquisition by Jack Henry.

 

Tony’s impact extends beyond innovation; he is recognized for his strong, steady leadership and ability to build high-performing teams. At WesCorp, he served as Executive Vice President and COO, leading the industry’s largest corporate credit union payments organization. He drove strategic growth, reengineered business processes, and integrated multiple companies, all while maintaining a focus on operational excellence and member service. His leadership during times of change and challenge has been marked by resilience, vision, and a commitment to the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
