LaTonya Allen-Amerson,CUDE,CLO, is a dynamic and respected leader whose career reflects the very heart of the credit union movement: people helping people. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, she currently serves as Chief Lending Officer at Government Printing Office Federal Credit Union (GPOFCU), where her leadership has transformed lending practices, elevated member engagement, and strengthened institutional resilience.

 

LaTonya’s work is deeply rooted in advocacy. She promotes financial and emotional support for both members and staff, especially during times of uncertainty. Her commitment to inclusion and equity is evident in her role as National Chapter Liaison for the African-American Credit Union Coalition (AACUC), where she helps ensure that regional leadership reflects the communities credit unions serve. She has also served as a conference speaker on lending topics, with a focus on innovative approaches in the industry. In addition, she has shared insights on developing income-driven consumer loan products, highlighting how these models can better support financial inclusion and borrower sustainability. Her voice is one of compassion and conviction, always focused on creating a more inclusive and responsive credit union system.

 

Innovation is a hallmark of LaTonya’s leadership. At GPOFCU, she has introduced member-centric lending models and strategic programs that align with evolving financial needs. Her creative approach to marketing and engagement has earned the credit union multiple Trailblazer Awards from the MD|DC Credit Union Association and the Marketing Association of Credit Unions. These honors reflect her ability to implement sustainable solutions that drive growth while staying true to the credit union philosophy. Whether developing new loan products or enhancing brand visibility, LaTonya brings a forward-thinking mindset that keeps members at the center of every decision.

Her leadership during difficult times has reinforced the importance of compassion and stability in financial services.
